Krieschow-Wiesendorf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Krieschow-Wiesendorf was a municipality that existed from 1928 to 1993 in what was then the Cottbus district of the German Reich, the Soviet zone of occupation and the GDR, or from 1952 in the former Cottbus district (from 1954 Cottbus-Land district ) of the GDR, and from 1990 in the country Brandenburg of the Federal Republic of Germany. With the formation of the large Kolkwitz community in 1993, the Krieschow-Wiesendorf community was dissolved.

location

The community was about 13 kilometers west-southwest of downtown Cottbus and about 10 kilometers northwest of Drebkau . In the north it bordered Babow and Milkersdorf , in the east on Limberg and Glinzig , in the south on Koschendorf and Casel , and in the west on Reddern and Laasow .

history

The municipality of Krieschow-Wiesendorf was created on January 1, 1928 (January 1, 1926) through the merger of Krieschow and Wiesendorf. At that time Krieschow also had the municipality or district Rübnick. The Rübnick district ceased to exist in 1937 and became part of Krieschow. From 1928 the community belonged to the Cottbus district of the German Reich, from 1945 to the Soviet occupation zone and from 1949 to the GDR. The Cottbus district lasted until the 1952 district reform. The new Cottbus district in the newly created Cottbus district has been made smaller than the old Cottbus district. In 1954, the Cottbus district was created; the (remaining) district was renamed the Cottbus-Land district . On January 1, 1972, Brodtkowitz and Kackrow were incorporated into Krieschow-Wiesendorf. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Cottbus-Land district was renamed the Cottbus district. The Cottbus-Land district was founded on 5./6. December 1993 merged with the districts of Forst , Guben and Spremberg to form the district of Spree-Neisse. With the incorporation of Krieschow-Wiesendorf into the new (large) community Kolkwitz at the same time, 5th / 6th December 1993, the municipality of Krieschow-Wiesendorf was dissolved. In the first law on the structure of municipalities in the state of Brandenburg , however, the municipality name is given as Krieschow. It has not yet been clarified whether the name has actually been renamed or whether it is a careless mistake in the legal gazette. With the dissolution of the community, Brodtkowitz, Kackrow, Krieschow and Wiesendorf became districts of the new Kolkwitz community, each with its own local advisory council and mayor.
