Studio Naxos
Studio Naxos ( spelling : studioNAXOS ) is a theater in Frankfurt am Main that shows performances, concerts and theater by mainly young cultural workers from Hessen who are at the end of their studies or at the beginning of their professional lives and are active in the performing arts . The play and production facility is the listed Naxoshalle in Frankfurt am Main .
history
Studio Naxos was founded in 2014 by students from the Hessian Theater Academy as a reaction to the working conditions of artists in the Frankfurt am Main and Hesse area. Studio Naxos works closely with the Willy Praml Theater . With the institutional funding from the City of Frankfurt from 2017, a basis was created for the creation of new developments in the performing arts and the formation of a “loose” ensemble. Regular sponsors of the project include a. the state of Hesse , the Rhein-Main cultural fund and private foundations. Studio Naxos has been part of the network of independent theaters since 2018 and an associated member of the Hessian Theater Academy since 2020 . It cooperates with the Lichter Filmfest and the Goethe Festival Weeks. Works by Studio NAXOS were represented at the most important German newcomer festivals (Körber-Studio, Radikal Jung , Out Now Festival , Fast Forward Festival , Impulse Festival ) and were invited to guest performances in various theaters across Germany.
