Kunersdorf , in Lower Sorbian Kósobuz , is a district of the Kolkwitz municipality in the Spree-Neisse district in Brandenburg .

location

Kunersdorf is located in Niederlausitz on the south-eastern edge of the Spreewald biosphere reserve, almost twelve kilometers northwest of Cottbus . Surrounding villages are Papitz in the north, Dahlitz in the east, the main town in the southeast of Kolkwitz, Limberg in the south, Krieschow in the southwest, Milkersdorf in the West as well as to the community Werben (Spreewald) belonging Gemeindeteil Brahmow in the northwest.

State road 512 from Guhrow to Limberg runs through Kunersdorf . The Berlin – Görlitz railway , at which Kunersdorf has a stop, runs south of the local area .

history

Kunersdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1464. At that time the place consisted of a manor house and the place itself, which was laid out as a dead-end village due to its form of settlement . The residents of Kunersdorf lived mainly from agriculture and cattle breeding . The village was badly damaged during the Thirty Years War .

Later a forge was built in the village. After the construction of the Berlin – Cottbus line, many residents found work with the railway and, from 1920, with the Deutsche Reichsbahn .

Kunersdorf belongs to the parish Papitz which of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Oberlausitz belongs.

After the Congress of Vienna , Kunersdorf came as part of Niederlausitz to the Kingdom of Prussia , where the place was in the Cottbus district . On July 25, 1952, the community was assigned to the newly formed Cottbus-Land district in the Cottbus district . On July 1, 1950, Kunersdorf was incorporated into Papitz . After reunification , Kunersdorf was in the Cottbus district in Brandenburg . After the district reform in Brandenburg on December 6, 1993 , Kunersdorf came to the newly formed Spree-Neisse district and at the same time was incorporated into the large community of Kolkwitz .

For his statistics on the Sorbian population in Lusatia, Arnošt Muka determined a population of 207 for Limberg in the 1880s, of which 201 were Sorbs (97%) and six were Germans.
