Dahlitz , Dalic in Lower Sorbian , is a district of the municipality of Kolkwitz in the Spree-Neisse district in Brandenburg .

Dahlitz is located in Niederlausitz, about ten kilometers west of Cottbus in the official settlement area of ​​the Sorbs / Wends . Surrounding villages are Gulben in the northeast, Zahsow in the east, Kolkwitz in the southeast, Glinzig in the south, Limberg in the southwest, Kunersdorf in the west and Papitz in the northwest.

The 7131 district road runs through Dahlitz. The Berlin – Görlitz railway line runs south of the local area . The Dahlitz ponds are also to the south .

history

Dahlitz was first mentioned in a document in 1400. Most of the inhabitants lived from agriculture and fishing . In 1758 Dahlitz was destroyed by a major fire , in 1785 the place was completely flooded after a dam burst in the nearby Dahlitz ponds.

After the Congress of Vienna , Dahlitz came to the Kingdom of Prussia as part of Niederlausitz . To 1 July 1950 was Dahlitz along with Kunersdorf and Zahsow to Kolkwitz incorporated. On July 25, 1952 Kolkwitz was assigned to the newly formed district of Cottbus-Land in the district of Cottbus with the district Dahlitz . After the reunification , Dahlitz was in the Cottbus district in Brandenburg . After the district reform in Brandenburg on December 6, 1993 , Dahlitz came to the newly formed Spree-Neisse district .
