League Qual 2019/20

The season 2019/20 of the Oberliga Nordost was the 29th season of the Oberliga Nordost and the twelfth as the fifth highest division in Germany. It opened on August 2, 2019 and ended on March 8 with the 19th matchday. From December 16, 2019 to February 16, 2020, the season was interrupted by the winter break, after March 13, 2020 again due to the COVID-19 pandemic . This also led to the decision to end the season prematurely on June 5, 2020.

Effects of the coronavirus pandemic

On March 13, 2020, NOFV announced that it would suspend play in the Oberliga Nordost until March 22, 2020. On March 18, 2020, the association then decided to suspend all of its gaming operations until April 19, 2020. Even before the deadline had expired, the DFB announced the final decision of the 21 regional associations to suspend play from the regional league downwards until further notice. A resumption should be announced with a lead time of 14 days.

On June 5th, a decision on further steps was made at a NOFV presidium meeting. Since not all participants in the respective relays had the same number of completed games, the quotient rule was applied based on the table status of March 13, 2020 (points average per completed game). As a result, Tennis Borussia Berlin was named champion of the North relay and FSV 63 Luckenwalde was chosen to be the South relay champion. Both clubs rose to the Regionalliga Nordost . In addition, with the exception of VfL 05 Hohenstein-Ernstthal , who had previously canceled their first team, and TV Askania Bernburg , whose team voluntarily relegated at the end of the season, no team had to relegate in a sporting way. For the coming season, the promoted players from the subordinate divisions of the six NOFV regional associations will, as usual, complete the field of participants.

Attendees

A total of 32 clubs, spread over two seasons (north and south), took part in the 2019/20 season. The exact seasons were published by the NOFV on June 17, 2019. The Ludwigsfelder FC was regrouped from the southern to the northern relay. The following clubs qualified in terms of sport:

Since the teams had each played a different number of games, a quotient regulation was necessary to determine the final placements. The points were divided by the number of games played. In the event of a tie, the following rule applies:

  • 3rd / 4th Place: Hansa Rostock II / Hertha Zehlendorf: Goal difference
  • 11./12. 1st place: 1. FC Lok Stendal / SV Victoria Seelow: Goal difference
