Football Oberliga Nordost 1993/94

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1993/94 season of the Northeast Football League was the third and last season of the Northeast Oberliga as the third highest division in the Federal Republic of Germany . For the following season 1994/95 the 1993/94 still in three seasons (north, middle and south) played Oberliga Nordost due to the reintroduction of the regional leagues fourth class and reduced to two seasons (north and south). Therefore, in addition to the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga via the last relegation played, qualification for the newly founded Regionalliga Nordost was possible. Finally, the FSV Zwickau rose to the 2nd Bundesliga, while 16 other teams were integrated into the regional league.

North season

In the northern season, which was only played with 15 teams in the previous season due to the rise of Tennis Borussia Berlin , BSV Brandenburg reached the relegation games to the 2nd Bundesliga, while Eisenhüttenstädter FC , Berlin clubs Reinickendorfer Füchse , FC Berlin and Spandauer SV 1894 as well as the FSV Optik Rathenow achieved integration into the regional league. Rathenow benefited from the waiver of 1. FC Schwedt, who was actually instead eligible for promotion . The amateur team of Hansa Rostock was knocked off last in the final table and thus rose to the state league after the team had been completely replaced by youth players due to financial bottlenecks at the beginning of the season. Furthermore, the Bergmann-Borsig team went to SV Preußen Berlin at the end of the season , so that the Bergmann-Borsig team took the place of Bergmann-Borsig in the north season the following season.

    Relegation

The respective relay winners of the Oberliga Nordost qualified for the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga , whereupon the teams faced each other in the first and second leg and thus each played four games to determine the promoter. The team from Energie Cottbus , who moved up to replace the winner of the middle season 1. FC Union , lost all four games, which is why the direct clashes between the winners of the south and north seasons were decisive. Here, the won FSV Zwickau his home match against FC Stahl Brandenburg 1, during the same meeting in Brandenburg with 1: 2 ends 1 draw. Thus, the FSV succeeded in promotion to the second highest division, Brandenburg and Cottbus were incorporated into the third division regional league.
