The 1. FC Markkleeberg was a football club based in Markham in today's district of Leipzig . It was founded on June 30, 1990 after the political change in 1989 and was dissolved in 1994 due to bankruptcy.

prehistory

For the 1982/83 season, TSG Chemie Markkleeberg rose from the Leipzig district league to the GDR league. TSG started in Season C and reached sixth place in the first season, making them the best newcomer. In the second season you could achieve the best placement in the GDR league with 5th place.

In the period that followed, TSG Markkleeberg, which dropped the addition of "chemistry" to its name in the year, was almost always placed in the middle of the table. 1990 to 1991: last season in the GDR

1. FC Markkleeberg took over the starting position of TSG Markkleeberg in the last season of the league and started in season B.
