history

Historical logo of the BSG locomotive / armatures

The roots of SC Blau-Weiß Energie Prenzlau go back to SG Prenzlau, which was founded in 1946. The SG was renamed Blau-Weiß Prenzlau in 1948 and Eintracht Prenzlau in 1949. With the introduction of the system of company sports associations in East Germany, SG was first converted into BSG Motor in 1950 and a little later into BSG Traktor Prenzlau.

In 1952, the football players, from January 1953 as BSG Lokomotives, were among the first teams in the newly founded third-class district league Neubrandenburg . Despite good placements in the 1960s and winning four district championships between 1965 and 1970, the Prenzlauer did not get beyond the third division. While the footballing possibilities were still limited with the Deutsche Reichsbahn as the carrier company , the sporting upswing came with the entry of the Prenzlau armatures (AWP) and the merger with its BSG Armaturen from 1979 onwards. As BSG Lok / Armaturen Prenzlau in 1982, after winning their fifth district championship, they were finally promoted to the second-class GDR league , in which the BSG was active for a total of seven (of nine possible) seasons apart from two short interruptions. However, the team from the Uckermark only ever reached placements in the lower third of the table.

After the economic collapse of the East German company sports associations, former members of the BSG Lok / Armaturen founded the FSV Rot-Weiß Prenzlau in 1991. The football team of the former BSG was integrated into the new NOFV-Oberliga for the 1991/92 season . The Prenzlauers could not achieve sporting success after that, after relegation in 1996 to the Association League Brandenburg , the team was passed through the Landesliga Nord until 2005 in the Landesklasse Nord. In 2010 the championship title could be won in the national class North and the FSV rose again to the national league. In 2013 the club was renamed Prenzlauer SV Rot-Weiß and on January 1st, 2015 it was renamed SC Blau-Weiß Energie Prenzlau. After relegation again, he returned to the northern relay of the regional league in 2016.

Before the start of the 2017/18 season, the club canceled its team from the regional league and was thus already the first relegated team. In September 2017, the association confirmed the bankruptcy (insolvency) and dissolved. To accommodate the youth departments and all other teams, a successor club was founded with the Prenzlauer Sport Verein Uckermark .

The Uckerstadion is currently equipped with a grass pitch with a modern sprinkler system, a 400 m running track and other athletics facilities. It has around 4,000 places (as of 2012).
