The 1992/93 season of the soccer Oberliga Nordost was the second season of the Oberliga Nordost as the third highest division in the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany . As in the 1991/92 premiere season , it was held in three seasons: North, Middle and South. Since three teams from the NOFV area were relegated to the upper league, the relays consisted of 17 teams each. In order to reduce the number of participants as planned to 16 teams each, three relegated teams were planned in each season with only two promoted teams. The respective season champions played at the end of the season in the relegation round from the promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga , which is why in the following season 1993/94 a relay with only 15 participants was formed. The rise reached this Tennis Borussia Berlin as a master of North-season after the real winners, the 1. FC Union Berlin had been denied from the relay center, the license for the 2. Bundesliga.
In the northern season, Tennis Borussia Berlin reached the relegation games to the 2nd Bundesliga as the undefeated champions, while BSV Stahl Brandenburg, relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga last year, only finished second. The FC Berlin , in the previous year still relay champions, only reached fourth place in the final table. With Motor Eberswalde , Viktoria Frankfurt / Oder and Spandauer BC , two teams from Brandenburg and one from Berlin were relegated to the respective association leagues.

Season middle
In the middle season, Union Berlin reached the relegation games to the 2nd Bundesliga for the second time, while Hallesche FC, having been relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga in the previous year, only finished second. In addition to SV Thale 04 from Saxony-Anhalt, two Berlin teams were relegated in 1962, the NSC Marathon 02 and the newcomer to the Oberliga 1. FC Lübars .

Season south
In the season south the FC Sachsen Leipzig reached the championship, but took part in the relegation games to the 2nd Bundesliga of the Bischofswerdaer FV after Leipzig was refused the license for the second division. It was only the better goal difference compared to the tied runner-up from Bischofswerda that was decisive for Leipzig's relay victory. Rot-Weiß Erfurt, who had been relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga last year, only took third place. In addition to the Saxon Riesaer SV , SC 1903 Weimar and the Oberliga newcomer Funkwerk Kölleda from Thuringia also descended in the respective national leagues. Both Riesa and Kölleda had one point each deducted, but this did not affect the final placements.

Relegation
Union Berlin , Tennis Borussia Berlin and Bischofswerdaer FV qualified for the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga . The three teams faced each other in the first and second leg and thus each played four games to determine who was promoted. Although Union Berlin won the relegation, the second-placed Tennis Borussia rose because Union was refused the license for the 2nd Bundesliga.
