The FC Spandau 06 is a German football club based in Berlin , in the 2014/15 season in the district league play. The club plays its home games on the Ziegelhof sports field , which has space for 3,000 spectators.
history
FC Spandau 06 was founded on June 6, 1906 as SC Britannia 06 Spandau . After the newly founded club Konkordia Spandau had joined in 1911 , it merged with Borussia 1916 Spandau in 1919 . 1921 a merger with SC Hertha Spandau and a new club name: Spandauer BC 06 .
On a sporting level, the SBC failed in 1933 in the qualifying games for the Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg at 1. FC Guben and Police SV Berlin and only played second class until the end of the war. After 1945 the association was dissolved and re-established as SG Spandau-Wilhelmstadt . In 1949 the Berliners returned to the historical name Spandauer BC 06 . The Spandauer BC played until 1991 almost without exception in the amateur league Berlin and in the Oberliga Berlin , a participation in the regional league Berlin , which existed until 1974 , the club did not succeed.
In 1991 the SBC was incorporated into the newly created Oberliga Nordost . Spandau held the third highest German division for only two seasons and was relegated to the Berlin Association League in 1993 with FC Viktoria from Frankfurt and Motor Eberswalde . On July 1, 2003, Spandau BC 06 merged with 1. FC Spandau to form FC Spandau 06 . 1. FC Spandau was founded in 1997 with the intention of the long-time district mayor Werner Salomon to bundle Spandau's football forces, including their big rivals Spandauer BC 06 and Spandauer SV . However, this thought did not develop any strength and only for the 2001/02 season could a team be registered for play after SC Ruhleben joined the 1. FC, which was previously only on paper.
After two relegations to the regional league in 1998 and 2001, FC Spandau 06 played in the sixth class Berlin league until 2011 . As table sixteenth, however, the team rose in the 2010/11 season in the national league. In 2013, the club even had to go to the district league.
In the 2015/16 season they made it back to the regional league. Only two years later, in the 2017/18 season, the club missed promotion to the Berlin League on the last match day.
