The FC Strausberg is a German football club from Strausberg in the district Oderland , east of Berlin . The club is a successor to ASG Vorwärts Strausberg .
Forward Strausberg
Forward Strausberg was founded in the early 1950s with the formation of the main staff of the barracked people's police (from 1956 Ministry of National Defense and Command of the Air Force of the NVA ). The ASG was promoted to the Frankfurt District League for the first time in 1960 , from which Strausberg was relegated again after only one season due to the dissolution of the Second GDR League .
In 1974 the Randberliner reported back in the district league, this time the class could be held in front of Dynamo Frankfurt . In the following years, Strausberg drove a total of three runners-up championships between 1977 and 1980, but the promotion to the GDR league was missed. In the 1979/80 season, the ASG qualified for the first main round of the FDGB Cup via the Frankfurt District Cup . After a 5-0 win over Motor Stralsund , Vorwärts Strausberg failed in the second main round against activist Brieske Senftenberg .
The district league held Strausberg until it was dissolved in 1991. Forward Strausberg was one of the few army sports associations that were not dissolved immediately. In terms of sport, the ASG could no longer keep up with just four season points and was then integrated into the Brandenburg State League under the name KSC Strausberg .
FC Strausberg
In 1995, the football department broke away from KSC Strausberg and founded FC Strausberg . The FCS rose again in 2003 to the national league. Since 2005 the club played in the Brandenburgliga , which was held in the following years with secured midfield positions. In the 2012/13 season, FC Strausberg became champions of the Brandenburgliga and rose to the Oberliga Nordost .
