history

In the 1980s, the basketball section was founded at TSV Stahnsdorf. In 1990 TSV was a founding member of the Brandenburg Basketball Association. On June 1, 1999, the department changed from TSV Stahnsdorf to the regional sports club Eintracht Teltow-Kleinmachnow-Stahnsdorf.

At that time, the men's team had just been promoted from the district league to the state league. In the following years the team worked their way up to the 2nd basketball league ProB , in which they were represented from the 2007/08 season. The Ukrainian Vladimir Pastushenko took over the position of head coach in 2003 and led the team to promotion to the 1st Regional League in 2006 and promotion to ProB a year later. The outstanding RSV player of this time was the American Joe Deister, who made a decisive contribution to the promotion series, played for the club from 2005 to 2008 and was named Player of the Year in the 1st Regionalliga North by eurobasket.com in the 2006/07 season . In the 2005/06 season, Joe Deister's older brother Jesse also played for RSV Eintracht. Both showed outstanding performances in the 2nd regional league.

After Alba Berlin , the RSV was for years the most successful basketball team in the agglomeration of Berlin . The goal for the 2010/11 season was promotion to the second highest German basketball division, the ProA . This was missed and the club finally found itself in the ProB relegation battle in 2012/2013 . In October 2012, the long-time head coach Pastushenko was relieved of his office, but later worked as the club's sports director. On the last day of the relegation round, the relegation of the ProB relegation was ensured in the 2012/13 season.

In the 2013/14 season, RSV Eintracht under coach Peter Günschel advanced to the quarter-finals of the ProB championship round and was eliminated there against Baunach .

In the final phase of the 2014/15 season they separated from Günschel, assistant coach Jaime Meißner and sports director Pastushenko took over, but were unable to prevent the sporting descent from the ProB. The RSV Eintracht stayed in the third highest German division thanks to a wildcard.

For the 2015/16 season Jan Sauerbrey was used as head coach. The RSV Eintracht missed the leap into the ProB playoffs for the second time in a row in that season, but secured the class in the relegation round. Since the Hertener Löwen relegated to the regional league, the RSV Eintracht was henceforth the only club that had belonged to the third division without interruption since the 2nd Bundesliga ProB was founded in 2007. The Dutchman Thomas Roijakkers was appointed Sauerbrey's successor to the post of head coach in the summer of 2016. At the end of February 2017, the RSV separated from Roijakkers due to the sporting situation. At that time, the team was on the penultimate place in ProB Nord. The previous assistant coach, the Croatian Denis Toroman, was chosen as the successor of the Dutchman. The team still missed relegation in the relegation round, but remained in the league because the athletically qualified BG Karlsruhe no longer received a license.

In the 2017/18 season, the sporting relegation in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB was again missed. Toroman led the team in the following season to win the championship title in the Regionalliga Nord. The top performers in the championship line-up included the Americans Matthew Dogan and Sebastian Fülle . Master trainer Toroman left the club after winning the title and accepted an offer from the Luxembourg Association, his successor at RSV was Kai Buchmann, a returnee. The RSV men's team received the nickname "TKS 49ers" (abbreviation for Teltow, Kleinmachnow, Stahnsdorf; the number was selected as a reference to 1949, the year the main club was founded) and its own coat of arms after being promoted back to the 2nd Bundesliga ProB. At the beginning of November 2019, Buchmann was given leave of absence as a trainer. After the sporting director Pastushenko had temporarily looked after the team in two games, a new head coach was hired in mid-November 2019 with the Moldovan Nicolai Coputerco, who had previously worked in the youth work of the EBC Rostock. The 2019/20 season, which ended prematurely in mid-March 2020 due to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus , ended the team as bottom of the ProB northern relay. On the part of the league, however, it was decided that there would be no relegation due to the shortened season.

In the summer break of 2020, Pastushenko replaced Coputerco as coach.

Well-known former players

At RSV Eintracht several basketball players played (partly also in the youth department) who were later active in the top two German leagues , such as Oliver Mackeldanz , Daniel Mixich , Kevin Schaffartzik , Mauricio Marin , Robin Jorch , Tim Schneider , Thomas Schoeps , Leon Bahner , Michael Fleischmann or Michael Jost . From 2005, the club strengthened its men's team regularly with players from the United States. The Americans who made the most impression in the RSV kit include: Joe Deister (2005-2008), Jackson Capel (2009-2010 and 2016) and Kellen Williams (2010-2012 and 2013-2015).

history

For decades, the footballers of RSV Eintracht only played at district level. In 2009 he was promoted to the national class, which was followed two years later by promotion to the regional league. In 2014, the Eintrachler rose to the Brandenburg League . The Stahnsdorfer stayed there for two years before relegation to the state league followed. In 2017 and 2018, RSV Eintracht was runner-up in the regional league behind FSV Bernau and Blau-Weiß Petershagen-Eggersdorf , before being promoted back to the Brandenburg league in 2019. The 2019/20 season was canceled prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic . The Stahnsdorf team had ten points ahead of the runner-up when it was canceled and thus made it through to the northeast soccer league .
