Mauricio Marin (born April 21, 1994 in Berlin ) is a German basketball player .

Career

Marin's home club is the TuS Neukölln . Via the International Berlin Basketball Academy (IBBA) station, with which he won the German U16 championship in 2010, he came to RSV Eintracht Teltow-Kleinmachnow-Stahnsdorf , where he was used in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB in the 2010/11 season . In the following season 2011/12 he worked for the reserve team of Bundesliga club Alba Berlin in the regional league.

In July 2012 he was signed by FC Bayern Munich . In the next three years he made two short appearances in the Bundesliga for FCB, but was mostly used in the second men's team and in the youth team. After his three-year contract with FC Bayern expired, Marin moved to the second division club Nürnberger BC in 2015 , where he was a regular player in the 2015/16 season. In June 2016 he was signed by Bundesliga club Walter Tigers Tübingen .

After a year in Tübingen, Marin moved to the Gießen 46ers in the Bundesliga in summer 2017 . After a season in which Marin scored an average of 4.5 points per game in 29 Bundesliga appearances, they split up. In February 2019, the Bundesliga club Science City Jena announced the engagement of the Combo Guard . He played twelve Bundesliga games (1.8 points / encounter) for the Thuringians, with whom he missed staying in the top division. In June 2019, Marin was introduced as a new addition by the second division club Rostock Seawolves .

National team

Marin played for the German junior national teams from the age group U16 up to the U20 and was part of the German squad at several international tournaments: U16 European Championship 2010, U18 European Championship 2011, Albert Schweitzer Tournament 2012, U18 European Championship 2012, U20- EM 2013.
