Football Association Cup 2019/20

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

22 participants from the 21 national associations of the DFB in the DFB-Pokal 2020/21 will be determined via the football association cup 2019/20 . The winners of the association cups are entitled to participate in the first round of the DFB Cup. The three associations with the largest number of members, Bavaria, Lower Saxony and Westphalia, are also sending a second participant. This means that 24 amateur clubs qualify for the national cup competition, 22 of them via the association cups. Second teams from clubs and corporations are not allowed to participate in the DFB Cup.

In Lower Saxony, the winners of both cup competitions qualify for the DFB Cup, in Bavaria the best team eligible to participate in the 2019/20 Regional League season in addition to the winner of the association cup for the first main round of the DFB Cup, in Westphalia this is the winning team in the qualifying game between the best eligible team of the Oberliga Westfalen 2019/20 and the best eligible Westphalian team of the Regionalliga West 2019/20 .

If an association cup winner reaches one of the first four places in the 3rd division, the defeated finalist moves up.
