The Eintracht Norderstedt football club from 2003 e. V. (short Eintracht Norderstedt or EN ) is a German football club from the Schleswig-Holstein city of Norderstedt . The club was founded in 2003 as the successor to the soccer department of 1. SC Norderstedt. Eintracht Norderstedt is a pure football club, other sports are not carried out in the club in favor of the popular sports club 1. SC Norderstedt.
Norderstedt plays its home games in the Edmund Plambeck Stadium . Despite belonging to the city of Schleswig-Holstein, Eintracht Norderstedt belongs to the Hamburg Football Association and has been playing in the Regionalliga Nord since 2013 - after Hamburger SV and FC St. Pauli , Eintracht has since become the strongest club in the HFV.
Club history
SV Eintracht Garstedt
On November 1, 1945, SV Eintracht Garstedt was founded in the up-and-coming village of Garstedt (at that time the city of Norderstedt did not yet exist) . In the beginning, the Hamburg suburban club played in the lower leagues of Hamburg, before in 1947, just two years after it was founded, it was promoted to the third-highest German league. There, Eintracht immediately took eighth place (among ten teams) in the 1st class / Hansa (comparable to the later district class) and was pushed into the parallel Hammonia relay for the following season ; In the end, it would have been enough for relegation anyway, since nobody was relegated from all four seasons in the 1947/48 season. A year later, Garstedt was no longer so lucky, but relegated and had to move into the new district class .
From then on there was hardly anything to be heard of Eintracht; in the next nine years the club played again in lower class leagues. The long-awaited ascent succeeded in the tenth year after relegating from the district class. The league, now known as the Association League, was a welcome place for Garstedt. In each of the first three seasons they achieved respectable places (1962 achieved the best place in Garstedt's history with seventh place), and even when things got tight in 1962/63, the SVE remained above the line. When the Bundesliga was founded, the league was only fourth class from 1963. Eintracht Garstedt, meanwhile, managed to stay in the league in 1964, but the relay change, after which they no longer competed in the Hammonia relay but in the Germania relay in the 1964/65 season , turned out to be a sporting failure. In the new league with new opponents, Garstedt never got along at any time of the season and thus had to relegate for the second time from Hamburg's second-highest division.
In 1971/72 the club finally had its appearance again in the fourth division, this time known as the Hamburg Amateur League . With twelfth place, the descent could be prevented. However, that should also be the SVE's last season: In 1970 the three villages of Harksheide, Friedrichsgabe and Glashütte joined forces with Garstedt to found the city of Norderstedt. On February 7, 1970 the 1. SC Norderstedt was founded as a dance sport club. On July 1, 1972, Eintracht Garstedt was incorporated into the club, which according to its own statements wanted to play higher class than just amateur football, the 1st SCN took over its stadium and its starting place in the amateur league.
1. SC Norderstedt
After Eintracht Garstedt merged with 1. SC Norderstedt on July 1, 1972 , the SCN did not start in the lowest division, but in the amateur league. The club's first president was Edmund Plambeck , who later gave the stadium its name. In the first season, Norderstedt repeated Garstedt's last placement and came in twelfth. In the following three years, the 1st SCN only just missed promotion to the next higher division, but in the fifth year the promotion to the highest Hamburg division, the regional league , should finally succeed.
The SCN only stayed there for two years, after the 1978/79 season you had to relegate from the Association League, as the league was renamed for this season. In the second Hamburg class , now known as the Landesliga , Norderstedt was always in the top group until it was promoted again in 1984, but missed promotion by a maximum of two places. After a fourth, two thirds and a second place in the final ranking, this could finally be achieved again in the fifth season after relegation from the association league. This time it was only seen as a stopover. Relegation was the top priority in the first season in the higher-class league, but the coup was achieved in 1985/86 when Norderstedt was runner-up behind the HSV amateurs . Also in the following season, the club was runner-up in the association league and this time it was promoted to the first national league.
In 1987/88 1. SC Norderstedt played for the first time against clubs from Braunschweig , Bremen , Kiel and other northern German cities. In the end, the 15th place was in the Oberliga Nord , with which Norderstedt could hold the class. In the following seasons, the club crawled closer and closer to the top position. After ninth place in 1989, they were already fourth in the final table in 1992, after the club improved by one or two places every year. 1992/93 came second behind VfL Herzlake . This was the first and only time that 1. SC Norderstedt managed to attract attention in all of Germany. Second place brought the SCN the participation in the qualification for the 2nd Bundesliga : Norderstedt could not win a game against TSV 1860 Munich , SSV Ulm 1846 and Kickers Offenbach , but it was a great experience for the players and the club, especially in the 2: 2 against 1860 the SC surprised.
Although the 1. SC Norderstedt missed the leap into the 2. Bundesliga, the club made it public. In addition, it looked good to be among the 14 clubs that were to make it into the newly founded regional league in the following season. But SC Norderstedt totally misjudged the starting position. At the end of the season Norderstedt was in 15th place and was one of only two clubs that did not make the leap into the regional league. One point was missing at the end of the season for the saving 14th place, without which the SCN had to stay in the divided league. In the Oberliga Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein , however, the club finally took a promotion place in order to move up to the Regionalliga Nord a year late.
In the Regionalliga Nord, which at the time was still the same size as the Oberliga Nord, which existed until 2008, Norderstedt usually played in the lower midfield of the table. Exceptions were the 1996/97 season with seventh place and a year later the tight relegation with 16th place, which only succeeded thanks to the license withdrawal of VfL 93 Hamburg . The greatest successes during this time were the two cup wins in Hamburg in 1995 (5: 4 after penalty shoot-out against FC St. Pauli II ) and 1999 (2: 1 after extra time against Hamburger SV II ). In the DFB Cup , however, the SCN failed early in the competition. In 1995/96 they lost to SG Wattenscheid 09 0: 1, in 1999/2000 to VfB Stuttgart in the 2nd round (Norderstedt had a bye in the 1st round) with 0: 3.
In 1999, the SCN took a respectable twelfth place, but since the Regionalliga Nord merged with the Regionalliga Nordost and partly also the Regionalliga West / Südwest , only the first six clubs of last year's Regionalliga-Nord season would take part in the 2000/01 season. In the end it was not enough, as expected, 24 points were missing to remain in the regional league, so that 1. SC Norderstedt had to relegate to the Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein Oberliga again. Norderstedt scored a total of 185 goals in the two following seasons, but without creating the Regionalliga promotion. Before the 2002/03 season, the team withdrew, was determined as the first relegated and was placed last. When the 2003 season ended, it was decided to found a football-only club, which the SCN players would join. The reason was that 1. SC Norderstedt lacked the means to financially maintain the football department. The other sports in the club were left as before and with the establishment of FC Eintracht Norderstedt in 2003 , the chapter of the football department of the 1. SCN was finally over. The stadium and the football facility were handed over to Eintracht (some sports are still practiced by the SCN on the sports facility) and the HFV transferred the club to the Hamburg 7 district league and took the place of the second team of the SCN for the 2002/03 season regularly finished and relegated from the Hamburg district league.
FC Eintracht Norderstedt 2003
The newly founded FC Eintracht Norderstedt started in the 2003/04 season in the district league Hamburg 7 (8th league) and should have no problems winning the championship there for the entire season. The team's first coach was Uli Schulz , who coached the club until the 2005/06 season. At the end of the season, 23 victories faced only two defeats, with Eintracht Norderstedt marching into the district league with 70 out of a possible 78 points. The 2004/05 season ended similarly for Eintracht, this time in the Hamburg Nord district league. Norderstedt won the league championship by 28 points; the promotion was already certain on the 23rd matchday. Again there were only two defeats for Eintracht.
In 2005/06 Eintracht Norderstedt played in the Landesliga Hansa , in which SV Curslack-Neuengamme was able to keep up with Norderstedt for the first time over the entire length of a season. Although Norderstedt was in first place in the half series, they often gave up in the back series, so that they were only fourth place in the meantime. It was only thanks to the significantly better goal difference that Eintracht Norderstedt managed to win the championship ahead of SVCN tied on points.
In the Hamburg league , Eintracht was already one of the favorites for the title as a newcomer with Ralf Schehr as the new coach, but disappointingly only ended up in 11th place and even had to tremble about staying in the league for the first half. The 2007/08 season began for Norderstedt under the new coach Marco Krausz also not to the full satisfaction of the audience and those responsible, but ended with a conciliatory third place. However, EN could not confirm the good placement in the following years; the following seasons ended in eighth, ten and sixth. Due to these comparatively bad years, Krausz also had to resign as Eintracht coach in early 2010 and was replaced by Andreas Prohn. The 2011/12 season started impressively with Prohn , so that Eintracht was in first place in the table during the winter break - thanks to the division reform that was decided, promotion to the regional league should finally be targeted this year , which was still the case in previous years was deemed financially impossible. However, the start of the second half of the season failed totally, as a result of which the club announced that it would not initially register for the regional league for sporting reasons. After continued poor performance in the league, Prohn was dismissed in March 2012 and replaced by Matthias Dieterich.
The 2012/2013 season ended Eintracht Norderstedt in fourth place in the Hamburg Oberliga. After FC Elmshorn returned the license they had received for the upcoming regional league season and Altona 93 and TSV Buchholz 08 had not applied for a license, Norderstedt was allowed to take part in the promotion to the Regionalliga Nord. There, the Norderstedter competed in a simple round against Lupo Martini Wolfsburg , SV Eichede and Brinkumer SV and were able to secure promotion to the regional league after just two games, in which the club participated for the first time in 2013/14 and finished the season in 10th place .
In the 2015/16 season, Eintracht Norderstedt moved into the final of the Hamburg Cup , where they beat Altona 93 , which qualified them for the DFB Cup . In the 2016/17 season, Eintracht Norderstedt was eliminated from the DFB Cup against SpVgg Greuther Fürth . The new trainer to succeed Thomas Seeliger , who left after four years in office, has been Dirk Heyne since the beginning of October 2016 . In the following year, Eintracht Norderstedt was able to qualify again for the first round of the DFB Cup by beating SV Halstenbek-Rellingen in the final of the Hamburg Cup , in which they had to admit defeat to VfL Wolfsburg just 0: 1 .
After running into the highest risk of relegation in the 2018/2019 season, the club separated from coach Dirk Heyne in April 2019 . His successor was the previous U19 coach Jens Martens, who managed to stay up with the team on the last day of the match with a 3-1 win at 1. FC Germania Egestorf / Langreder . After his assistant coach Olufemi Smith acquired the Trainer A license, Smith was promoted to head coach with equal rights in August 2019. The coaching duo managed to win the Hamburg Cup again in the 2019/20 season against TSV Sasel , after Norderstedt had to admit defeat to TuS Dassendorf in the final last year .
youth
Eintracht's A-youth team has been playing in the regional league , the second highest division , since the 2012/13 season .
The B-youth of Eintracht Norderstedt won the Hamburg championship in 2011 and thus made it into the B-youth regional league (2nd division) for the first time in the 2011/12 season . In this, a surprising second place succeeded behind the not eligible Werder Bremen II , through which Eintracht was able to advance to the Bundesliga of the B-Juniors for the first time , which is the greatest success in the club's short history.
Stadion
The venue for Eintracht Norderstedt is the Edmund Plambeck Stadium in the Norderstedt district of Garstedt , which was also the venue for the second team of Hamburger SV until 2013 . The stadium has 1,800 seats on the covered main grandstand and 3,300 standing places on the other sides, which mainly consist of steps and are uncovered. The entrance to the stadium is on Ochsenzoller Strasse opposite the main entrance to the Garstedt Evangelical Cemetery . There are also two artificial turf pitches on the sports facility, on which many other teams from the club play their games and train. The clubhouse is also located on the site. With the relocation of the second HSV team, the stadium was converted to make it suitable for the regional league and, among other things, fenced and equipped with goal nets; According to the DFB, the stadium could be used for most games in the 3rd division .
