history

The complete founding history of SV Lurup is very complicated and is only partially outlined here. The club comes from the ATSB ( workers' sport ). In 1933 he was forcibly merged with the DFB club FC Blau-Weiß Schenefeld by the National Socialists. In 1946 the club was re-established as TSV Lurup, which was then renamed SV Lurup in 1949 and the full name SV Lurup Hamburg in 1978. Until the mid-1970s, the club had little success. Success only came with the Tiedemann stevedoring company as sponsor. In the 1977/78 season they were in the promotion round to the league, but only got a single draw here. In 1980 the squad was upgraded with ex-professionals Detlef Spincke ( Hamburger SV ), Wolfgang Kulka ( FC St. Pauli ) and Harald Klimmek ( HSV Barmbek-Uhlenhorst ).

In the same year one rose to the Oberliga Nord . Due to an internal dispute, the main sponsor Tiedemann then withdrew. Uwe Einsath, the owner of a scaffolding company, took over the command. After the 1983/84 season they were even in the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga together with FC St.Pauli, in which the team, however, had no chance of promotion pretty quickly. Shortly thereafter, Einsath withdrew as a sponsor due to internal resistance to the professionalisation of the association. The club rose in the following time to the association league (5th league). In 1989 they rose again to the 4th division and after Uwe Einsath returned in 1992 to the Oberliga (3rd division) (1st season in the Oberliga Nord 1992/93 ). Until 1997, the SV remained third-rate, but could only just avoid relegation in the 1993/94 season . During this time, the club brought in renowned coaches and players, including the Argentinian Gustavo Acosta , the ex-professionals Bernd Buchheister and Oliver Dittberner, and coaches such as Horst Wohlers , Willi Reimann and Dietmar Demuth . Einsath's dream of the 2nd Bundesliga did not come true. For some time now, the association has been increasingly devoting itself to youth work, and sponsor Einsath has significantly reduced its financial commitment. Since 2004, with the exception of the 2007/08 season, they have only been playing in the 5th division (see the Hamburg Football League ).

In 2007/08 , SV Lurup played in the Oberliga Nord, although the club was only able to complete the Hamburg League as sixth in the table and with a negative goal difference, as the better-placed Hamburg clubs waived promotion. As table fourteenth, however, you could not qualify for the newly created Regionalliga Nord and were relegated to the Oberliga Hamburg. The 2009/10 season could only end there as 15th and was relegated to the sixth class national league. In 2012, the club rose again to the Hamburg Oberliga, but was only able to stay there for one season before returning to the Landesliga in 2013. In 2015, the club rose again as first place in the Landesliga Hammonia in the Oberliga Hamburg. But since the entire first team left the club due to internal discrepancies, Lurup was only able to compete with his previous second team in the league in the 2015/16 season .

This led to direct relegation after only one point and 252 goals conceded from 34 games this season. In the following national league season 2016/17, the team was passed through to the district league with three points and 192 goals conceded.

Stadion

SV Lurup has been playing since 2017 in the Vorhornweg sports park on the edge of the Altona cemetery near the Altonaer Volkspark , near which the club's first venue was already located. The sports park was inaugurated in July 2017 and is equipped with artificial turf and a two-story grandstand. It is officially approved for 5,000 spectators and, according to official information, cost around 4.5 million euros.

Before that, SV Lurup played for many years in the stadium on Flurstrasse . This sports facility was inaugurated in 1952. In 1982, the construction of a covered grandstand followed, which was opened with a game against the English club Crystal Palace (3-1). It was last officially approved for 6,000 spectators and was demolished in the course of a site exchange with the new sports park site. The reason for this was an expansion of the Lurup district school. The office and the club restaurant on Flurstraße are still used by SV Lurup.

Women's soccer

The women's football department was founded in 1997. In the early years there were only girls' teams. After the turn of the millennium, the women's team made a steep climb. After advancing to the regional league in 2002, two more promotions followed with reaching the Regionalliga Nord . This class could not be held, and so the team was relegated to the association league. There she managed the direct ascent. After the first half of the 2006/07 season they were in second place and ended up ninth. In the following season, the team broke apart despite a good first half of the season, threatening the sudden end of Lurup women's and girls' football. Filled with players from the 2nd women's regional league team, which had already been canceled during the season, the 2007/08 regional league season was played to the end and was relegated to the penultimate. With a new coach and additional players from a neighboring club, they started in the district league, achieved immediate promotion to the state league as champions and came third there in the 2009/10 season. C-girls, later D-girls and 2011 also B-girls teams were founded in 2009.
