history

The association was founded in 1924. After the end of the Second World War in 1945, the club merged with the FTSV Jahn Brinkum to form TSV Brinkum . On March 13, 1961, this merger was dissolved again and the two parent associations were each newly founded. Although Brinkum is located in the Lower Saxony district of Diepholz , the club belongs to the Bremen Football Association and competes in the divisions of this regional association.

In 1995, the Brinkumern succeeded for the first time in promotion to the highest amateur league, which was still called the Association League at the time . Although the team had to relegate immediately, they were promoted again in 1997. Two years later, the Brinkum team had to go down to the regional league again , before the championship in 2003 brought them back to the Bremen upper house. Since he did not want to climb the Brinkumer moved up. As the last place in the 2005/06 season , the team had to leave the league after a year. In the 2008/09 season , the Brinkumer SV took first place in the Bremen League and remained undefeated in the season. However, the club waived promotion to the regional league .

In the 2012/13 season , the club reached the promotion round to Regionalliga Nord in fifth place in the Bremen League , as the four better-placed teams were either not eligible for promotion or had waived a possible promotion. The Brinkumer finished the promotion round without winning points as bottom of the table and thus remained in the Bremen league. In the 2014/15 season , the Brinkum runners-up behind Bremer SV . Since the second team of the BSV was excluded due to multiple non-appearances, the club was refused admission for the 2015/16 season, as the Bremen Association's rules of play require two men's teams. The association put opposition , arguing with his seniors team. The sports court of the Bremen Football Association gave the place and the Brinkumer remained Bremen-Ligist.

The 2017/18 season brought the Brinkumern the second championship of the Bremen league with one point ahead of FC Oberneuland . Thus the BSV reached the promotion round to the Regionalliga Nord. On the last day of the match, the team missed promotion with a 4-0 defeat against VfL Oldenburg .

The team has made it to the finals four times in the Bremen Cup . In 2006 the final was lost 3: 4 against FC Bremerhaven , in 2008 the team was defeated by FC Oberneuland with 0: 2, and in 2012 they were again defeated by FC Oberneuland with 0: 2. In 2015 they lost 1: 5 to the Bremer SV . Brinkumer SV took part twice in the North German championship in futsal .
