The culture and sport association Vatan Sport Bremen from 1978 e. V. is a sports club based in Bremen . The Turkish word "Vatan" means something like "home" in German. In addition to sporting activities, the association is also involved in cultural, social and educational areas for foreign citizens.

The club has eight soccer teams, including a women's soccer team. There is also a folklore group , a tutoring group and a women’s group. A total of 160 young people are looked after in the association. Vatan Sport has 350 members. The club colors are red, white and black.
history
The club was founded on May 20, 1978 in Bremen as a football club . Initially, the team ran on in 1978 in the district league C, but rose in the 1979/80 season. 1980/81 Vatan Sport played in the district league A, 1981/82 in the district and later in the national league. This was followed by promotion to the association league and in 1995 for one season in the northern football league . In the 2008/09 season, the club rose from the Bremen League to the sixth-class Landesliga Bremen . In 2012, the first men again succeeded in promotion to the highest Bremen league, before relegation followed three years later.
A few years after it was founded, the club also began to build youth teams. In the meantime, the club also had a youth team for girls. For a short time from 1979 Vatan Sport maintained a wrestling department , whose team became national champions in 1980, but was given up again in 1981. The association has also been culturally active since 1991.
