Tobias Duffner (born December 5, 1983 in Bünde ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper .

Career

Already in his youth, Duffner changed clubs a few times, so he was active in the junior teams of VfB Oldenburg and Werder Bremen . He strengthened his reputation as a wandering bird during his career with annual club changes.

He started at SC Weyhe , who played in the Oberliga Niedersachsen / Bremen in the 2003/04 season . There he played regularly and came to 28 missions. In 2004 he moved to Holstein Kiel in the Regionalliga Nord . In Kiel, however, he could not prevail and only came on four missions for the second team, so that at the end of the season he moved to the league club Brinkumer SV . Here things went better for Duffner and in the following season he was the goalkeeper at VfR Neumünster , who also played in the major league. In 2007 the keeper changed again and was hired by TuRU Düsseldorf in the Oberliga Nordrhein . There he was initially dissatisfied because he was only number 2 behind Jonas Agen. After being injured by agent, he was still on a few missions.

In 2008 he made the leap into professional football, because Duffner moved to Kickers Emden , in the newly founded 3rd division . On March 31, 2009 (29th matchday) he was substituted on for Daniel Masuch in the 4-0 defeat against SpVgg Unterhaching when the score was 3-0 in the half-time break and thus came on for his first professional appearance. However, this game remained his only one for the Kickers and at the end of the season Duffner's contract was not renewed, so he was initially without a club. After half a year, he finally signed a contract with the upper division club SV Ahlerstedt / Ottendorf in January 2010 and made twelve appearances with Lower Saxony in the second half of the season. For the 2010/11 season he returned to Werder Bremen to support the young goalkeepers Sebastian Patzler , Sebastian Mielitz and Felix Wiedwald in the second team. In the 2014/15 season he came to a. in the promotion games and returned with the team back to the 3rd division. In 2015/16 he played in the 3rd division in the preliminary round and in the last games in which the team managed to stay up.

After ending his career in 2019, Duffner became goalkeeping coach at regional league club SV Atlas Delmenhorst a year later .
