Sebastian Mielitz (born July 18, 1989 in Zehdenick ) is a German soccer goalkeeper . He is under contract with FC Viktoria Köln .

Career

society

Mielitz comes from Neulöwenberg in the north of Brandenburg . He played from 1996 at TSG Fortuna 21 Grüneberg and then at Löwenberger SV. He then played for Oranienburger FC Eintracht and came to the B-youth of SV Werder Bremen in 2005 via MSV Neuruppin and Energie Cottbus .

Werder Bremen

He quickly prevailed in the B-youth and played his first season with the A-youth in 2006/07. On November 10, 2007 he played for the second team from Werder Bremen for the first time and represented the injured goalkeeper Nico Pellatz in the second half of the season . In August 2008 Mielitz extended his contract until 2010. He made his professional debut in the 3rd division on August 16, 2008 against SSV Jahn Regensburg . On December 3, 2009, he came to his first international professional appearance in the home game of Bremen against Nacional Funchal in the Europa League . He recorded his first Bundesliga appearance on December 6, 2009 against 1. FC Köln . The game ended 0-0, with Mielitz convincing. In the 2010/11 season, the goalkeeper started the new season as number three behind Tim Wiese and Christian Vander . On October 20, 2010, he came on for the injured Tim Wiese in the Champions League group game at Twente Enschede , making his Champions League debut. The game ended 1-1.

In March 2010 he extended his contract with SV Werder Bremen until June 30, 2012, one year again for another year. When at the end of the season there were rumors of an imminent change from Tim Wiese in the room, Mielitz was traded as a possible successor.

However, since Wiese stayed at Werder Bremen, Mielitz went into the 2011/12 season as the second goalkeeper - behind Wiese but ahead of Vander. He made his first season appearance on matchday 6, when Wiese was sent off after a red card at 1. FC Nürnberg (1: 1). In the following three games, Mielitz also represented the suspended goalkeeper and showed decent performances. Mielitz played a total of seven Bundesliga games in the 2011/12 season.

After Wiese announced that he would be leaving Werder Bremen at the end of the season, Mielitz extended his contract period by one year to June 30, 2014. Another young goalkeeper , Raphael Wolf, who was previously in the Austrian Bundesliga , was signed as a competitor . For the 2012/13 season Mielitz von Wiese took over the shirt number 1. This season Mielitz was on the field in all 34 Bundesliga games, Werder had the second worst defense in the league with 66 goals conceded.

In January 2014, Mielitz lost his regular place as number 1 in goal to Raphael Wolf.

Sc freiburg

The SC Freiburg undertook Mielitz in May 2014. In the 2014/15 season he played only two German Cup games for the club.

SpVgg Greuther Fürth

Mielitz joined SpVgg Greuther Fürth in June 2015 . He received a two-year contract with the Franconian second division club. Mielitz played his first competitive game on July 25, 2015 (1st matchday) in a 1-0 home win against Karlsruher SC . The contract, which expired in summer 2017, was not extended.

SønderjyskE

For the 2017/18 season he moved to the Danish first division club SønderjyskE , where he received a two-year contract that was extended for another year on May 17, 2018. Mielitz won the Danish Cup in 2020 with SønderjyskE .

He made his debut in the U-20 national team of the DFB on October 12, 2008 in Altach in the 2-1 defeat against Austria . The following year he was part of the German squad at the 2009 Junior World Cup . Behind Ron-Robert Zieler , Mielitz and Tom Mickel were only a substitute in coach Horst Hrubesch's team . In the insignificant last round game against Cameroon , the goalkeeper came to his only tournament appearance. The German team was eliminated in the quarterfinals against the later finalists Brazil .
