Marcel Risse (born December 17, 1989 in Cologne ) is a German football player . He prefers to play offensively and defensively on the right wing and is under contract with FC Viktoria Köln as a loan player from 1. FC Köln . In addition, Risse was a young international player.

Career

Risse grew up in Cologne-Kalk and came to TuS Höhenhaus as a three-year-old in 1993 . In 1996 scouts from Bayer 04 Leverkusen discovered him , who brought him into the Bayer youth team. In the 2007/08 season he was a regular in the U-19 team and was a few times in the Bundesliga squad of coach Michael Skibbe . In May 2008 he made his Bundesliga debut against Hertha BSC .

During the winter break of the 2008/09 season Risse was awarded to 1. FC Nürnberg together with Stefan Reinartz . In the second half of the season he was only in the starting line-up three times in his twelve appearances and never played for the full time, but because of his speed he showed good qualities as a joker. While Reinartz went back to Leverkusen after promotion to the Bundesliga, Risse stayed at FCN for another year. At the beginning he was also used regularly in the new season and played twice over 90 minutes, but he was initially unable to assert himself in the team in the relegation battle. Only after the coach change from Michael Oenning to Dieter Hecking during the winter break he was used more often in the second half of the season. With six assists in the league, he was the most successful preparer of the Nuremberg. In the relegation first leg he prepared the 1-0 winning goal with a free kick.

In the summer of 2010 Risse initially returned to the Bundesliga squad of Bayer 04 Leverkusen. At the beginning of the 2010/11 season he was loaned to 1. FSV Mainz 05 for a year. Mainz 05 finally signed him in May 2011; he signed a three-year contract. In early November 2011 Risse suffered a bone sprain in his knee, which turned out to be a chronic bone bruise injury , causing him to be out for the remainder of the 2011/12 season .

For the 2013/14 season Risse moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for 1. FC Köln . After a year he was promoted to the Bundesliga with the team . In the decisive home game on matchday 31, Risse scored the goal to make it 1-1 in a 3-1 win against VfL Bochum . His two free-kick goals in the second round of the DFB Cup 2016/17 and the winning goal in stoppage time in the Bundesliga games at Borussia Mönchengladbach were chosen as the goals for October and November 2016. For the goal against Mönchengladbach, he also received the award of Goalscorer of the Year 2016 at the beginning of February 2017. This goal was named “Goal of the Decade” by 1. FC Köln at the turn of the year 2019/20.

On the 14th matchday of the 2016/17 season, at the away game in Hoffenheim, he tore his cruciate ligament after about 20 minutes of play.

The term of his contract was extended in January 2017 to the end of the 2021/22 season.

Risse was awarded to Cologne city rivals FC Viktoria for the third division season 2020/21 .
