Professional player in Leverkusen

2015/16 season

Although Henrichs had been part of the first team since the beginning of the 2015/16 season, he was only in one game in the first half of his first professional season, but was used in this: On September 20, 2015, he gave 0: 3- defeat at Borussia Dortmund his Bundesliga and competitive debut in professional football, as he, after 78 minutes of Karim Bellarabi came on. In the winter break training camp in Orlando , Florida , Henrichs was used in test matches in both full-back positions and knew how to convince - although he was unfamiliar with them until then.

Henrichs played his first game in the Europa League on February 18, 2016 in the first leg of the sixteenth-finals at Sporting Lisbon ; he came on in the 79th minute for Admir Mehmedi . On March 20, 2016, he made his starting line-up debut in the 2-0 Bundesliga win at VfB Stuttgart , where he was used as a right-back for the entire season - and as in the winter training camp. Due to suspensions and injury-related failures in the full-back positions, Henrichs subsequently came to further games in the Bundesliga; his head coach Roger Schmidt praised Henrichs' versatility and promised him further assignments in these positions. By the end of the season he came to a total of ten professional appearances, in which he prepared a goal.

Season 2016/17

At the beginning of the 2016/17 season , Henrichs earned a regular place in the full-back position. On September 14, 2016, he played his first game in the Champions League against PFK CSKA Moscow and prepared his team's first goal in a 2-2 draw. Henrichs played a total of 37 out of a possible 44 competitive games and contributed a total of three assists to the goals scored by his team.

In May 2017, Henrichs extended his contract term in Leverkusen ahead of schedule until mid-2022.

Season 2017/18

Shortly after the start of the 2017/18 season , when Heiko Herrlich was a new coach on the sidelines, Henrichs lost his regular place in the team. Although he was still used in 28 of 39 possible games, he only played a total of eleven of these (including two in the DFB Cup ) over the entire season; he was substituted on in 15 games. Henrichs contributed to the goals of his team with a template in the Bundesliga.

After completing the preparations for the 2018/19 season, Henrichs played his last compulsory game for the club in the 2-0 away defeat at Borussia Mönchengladbach on August 25, 2018, where he had to accept a yellow card during the game and after 64 minutes for Isaac Kiese Thelin was replaced. As part of the four or five-man chain, Henrichs was initially a regular player in his first season and was most often used on the defensive flanks and occasionally in midfield. In the second half of the season, however, the defender was left behind against Fodé Ballo-Touré and Djibril Sidibé and was often only on the bench. He retired with the team prematurely in the national cup competitions and came with her in the Champions League to only one point in the group stage. In the league, Monaco was in a relegation battle for long stretches and was ultimately sixteenth with two points ahead of the relegation place. In parallel with the team performance, Henrichs' form also fluctuated, which among other things prevented further nominations for the senior national team.

Due to injury, the defensive player missed large parts of the following season , but played regularly when he was fit. Ligue 1 games were ultimately not resumed after an interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic , at which point it was ranked 9th with Monaco after 28 match days.

He made his debut for the German U15s on November 8, 2011 in a 5-5 away defeat against Poland's U15s and scored the German team's second goal in this game. At the U17 European Championship in Malta , he led the German selection in 2014 as team captain .
