Gökhan Gül (born July 17, 1998 in Castrop-Rauxel ) is a German - Turkish football player .
Career
society
Gül came in 2005, having previously in his hometown at VfB Habinghorst and Arminia leakage had played in the youth academy of VfL Bochum . At Bochum he went through all youth departments from 2005. In August 2013 he made his debut against Alemannia Aachen in the U-17 Bundesliga and in August 2014 finally against Borussia Mönchengladbach in the A-Jugend-Bundesliga .
For the 2015/16 season, Gül moved up to the professional squad of the second division. In April 2016 he was in the Bochum squad for the first time against Karlsruher SC . He made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga in November 2016 against Dynamo Dresden , when he was called up in the starting line-up and was finally replaced in the 59th minute by Poland's Paweł Dawidowicz .
During the winter break of the 2016/17 season , Gül moved to league competitor Fortuna Düsseldorf , with whom he received a contract valid until June 2021.
In July 2017 Gül was awarded the Fritz Walter Bronze Medal for U19 players by the DFB .
On January 22, 2019, he initially moved to third division club SV Wehen Wiesbaden on loan until the end of the season . With the club Gül prevailed in the relegation games against FC Ingolstadt 04 and rose with him to the 2nd Bundesliga . In the summer of 2019, the loan agreement between Wehen and Düsseldorf was extended by one year.
At the end of the 2019/20 season, he returned to Fortuna Düsseldorf when the loan expired.
National team
Gül made his debut in September 2013 for the German U16 team . With the U17 national team , he took part in both the European Championship and the World Cup in 2015 . In March 2016, he played two games for the U18 team . In July 2016, he finally played for the U19 team for the first time when he was in the starting line-up at the European Championship against Portugal . He was also part of the German squad at the 2017 U19 European Championship .
