Robert Fleßers (born February 11, 1987 in Viersen ) is a German football player . He plays in defensive midfield or in central defense.
Career
Fleßers began his football career in 1992 at 1. FC Viersen before moving to Borussia Mönchengladbach three years later . In 2005 he received a professional contract with Borussia. On April 22, 2006 he made his debut in the Bundesliga . The opponent was Hertha BSC , the game ended 2-2. In two years he made nine appearances in the top division, but also played frequently in the regional league team. In the second division season 2007/08 he was not used for Borussia. For the 2008/09 season Fleßers moved to the then second division Mainz 05 , which he left after a year to sign with the then third division FC Ingolstadt from the 2009/10 season .
Most recently Fleßers was only used in the second team of FC Ingolstadt 04 in the Bayern League . In January 2011, his contract with FC Ingolstadt was terminated. Shortly afterwards he signed a contract until the end of the season with an option for another year with the then third division club Rot Weiss Ahlen .
The Wuppertaler SV Borussia signed Fleßers in the summer break 2011. He signed for two years until 2013 and was captain of the team since January 2013. After the WSV withdrew to the fifth-class Oberliga Niederrhein , Fleßers moved to the regional division Rot-Weiß Oberhausen in the summer of 2013 . For the shamrocks he played the next five years as a regular in the regional league. In 2018 he did not receive a new contract and moved to the Oberliga Niederrhein for TSV Meerbusch .
Fleßers played for almost all youth national teams of the DFB . In 2006 he was awarded the Fritz Walter Medal in silver in the U-19 category . On February 6, 2007 he made his debut for the U-21 national team in a friendly against Scotland. He scored a goal in this game (final score 2-0).
