Manuel Paul Wintzheimer (born January 10, 1999 in Arnstein ) is a German soccer player . The striker was trained at Bayern Munich for several years and has been under contract with Hamburger SV since July 2018 . He also played numerous missions for the youth national teams of the DFB .

Beginnings in Bavaria

Wintzheimer was born in Arnstein , Lower Franconia , and started playing football for the local 1. FC Arnstein . Via 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 , he moved to the youth training center of SpVgg Greuther Fürth in 2010 , before moving to that of FC Bayern Munich in 2013 at the age of 14 . In the 2015/16 season , the striker was top scorer of the South / Southwest season in the B-Junioren-Bundesliga with 23 goals in 18 appearances, 14 of them in the first eight games. For the 2016/17 season he was promoted to the A-Youth team and was regularly used in the A-Junior Bundesliga . In his first season he scored 14 goals in 24 appearances. At the end of the season he reached the final of the German A-Junior Championship with his team and lost with her on penalties against Borussia Dortmund . In the 2017/18 season he scored 26 goals in 26 appearances, making him top scorer in the South / Southwest season together with David Otto from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim , as well as 6 goals in 5 appearances in the UEFA Youth League . First professional contract with HSV

For the 2018/19 season, after his contract expired, he moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for Hamburger SV . He signed his first professional contract with the Bundesliga relegated team until June 30, 2022. After Wintzheimer was only substituted in once in the league and in the DFB-Pokal on the first 5 match days of the 2019/20 season, behind the new signing Lukas Hinterseer and the returnee Bobby Wood, under the new head coach Dieter Hecking , he switched from the beginning of September 2019 until the end of the season on loan to league competitor VfL Bochum . Return to HSV

National team

Wintzheimer played four times for the U-15 national team between November 2013 and May 2014 . Between November 2015 and February 2016 he also played four times in the U-17 team and scored two goals. From November 2016 to March 2017 he made six international matches in the U-18 team , in which he scored one goal. From August 2017 to March 2018 he played eight times for the U-19 team and scored five goals. He has been active in the U-20 selection since September 2018 .
