Stefan Bell (born August 24, 1991 in Andernach ) is a German soccer player . The defender plays for 1. FSV Mainz 05 .

Career

societies

Bell comes from the Ahrweiler district , where he has been the first chairman of FV Vilja Wehr, one of the clubs in the Wehr / Rieden / Volkesfeld youth team , where he started playing football, since 2016 . In 2006 he switched to TuS Mayen .

In 2007 Bell went to the junior performance center of 1. FSV Mainz 05 . In the 2008/09 and 2009/10 seasons he played 42 times for the Mainz A-Juniors in the Bundesliga and scored five goals. In 2009 he was German champion with the Mainz A-Jugend under coach Thomas Tuchel , but was not used in the final due to an injury. In the second half of the 2009/10 season he played three times for the Mainz team in the Regionalliga West . Also on the first day of the following season he played for the second team of Mainz 05.

On August 16, 2010, he moved to second division TSV 1860 Munich for a year on loan ; at the same time, he extended his contract with Mainz until 2013. In September 2010 he was awarded the Fritz Walter Medal in silver by the DFB . In the 2010/11 season he made his debut in professional football for 1860 and was then part of the regular line-up of the defense, but had to pause for several weeks in the second half of the season after an ankle injury. On the last day of the match he made his first appearance after the forced break. In total, he played 24 times for 1860 and scored two goals. For the 2011/12 season Bell switched to second division Eintracht Frankfurt on loan and again extended his contract term in Mainz by one year. On January 19, 2012, the loan deal was prematurely terminated at Bell's request

Immediately after his return to 1. FSV Mainz 05 he suffered an inner ligament rupture and was out for half a year. In the 2012/13 season he was used 20 times in the second team of Mainz 05 in the Regionalliga Südwest, but from December 2012 he also played eight games in the Bundesliga team. Since the 7th matchday of the 2013/14 season he has been a regular player in central defense in the Bundesliga and has been deputy team captain behind Niko Bungert since the beginning of the 2016/17 season . This season he played six group games in the Europa League with Mainz 05 .

His contract with Mainz 05 runs until 2020.

Stefan Bell was used in various junior teams of the DFB . He played for the German U-19 , U-20 and U-21 national team .
