Moussa Niakhaté (born March 8, 1996 in Roubaix ) is a French football player . He is under contract in Germany with 1. FSV Mainz 05 and plays for the French U21 national team .
Career
society
Niakhaté grew up in northern France and played for various local clubs. On October 20, 2014, he made his debut in professional football as a player for Valenciennes FC in a 3-0 home defeat in Ligue 2 against FCO Dijon . Until his departure in 2017, Niakhaté played with Valenciennes FC in the French second division against relegation and managed to stay relegated. He then moved to Ligue 1 for FC Metz and relegated to Ligue 2 with the Lorraine team at the end of the season.
In July 2018 Niakhaté moved to the Bundesliga for 1. FSV Mainz 05 and signed a five-year contract. In his first competitive game for Mainz, the first round game in the 2018/19 DFB Cup at Erzgebirge Aue on August 18, 2018, he saw the red card in the 3rd minute of the game . Mainz 05 won the match 3-1 when they were outnumbered. He scored his first Bundesliga goal for Mainz in a 3: 3 against RB Leipzig on May 3, 2019, the 32nd matchday.
National team
Niakhaté played three times for the French U19 national team and eight times for the U20 team . On March 27, 2018, he made his debut for the French U21 national team in a 2-0 victory in the European Championship qualifier against Montenegro in Nikšić .
