Jeremiah "Jerry" St. Juste (born October 19, 1996 in Groningen , Netherlands ) is a Dutch football player who is used in central defense . From 2015 to 2019 he played in the Eredivisie for SC Heerenveen and for Feyenoord Rotterdam . He has been under contract with 1. FSV Mainz 05 in the German Bundesliga since August 2019 . Since the U18, St. Juste played for Dutch junior teams.
Career
society
Jerry St. Juste, whose father is from St. Kitts and Nevis and whose mother is Dutch , grew up with his mother as a child of divorce. He started playing soccer at SV Marum and moved to the joint youth academy of SC Heerenveen and FC Emmen ( Voetbalacademie Heerenveen / Emmen ). On January 24, 2015, St. Juste played for the first time in the Eredivisie for the professional team of SC Heerenveen in a 4-1 win on the 19th matchday of the 2014/15 season in the game against Vitesse Arnheim . In the Eredivisie, he came to nine missions, but continued to play for the A-youth (U19) and for the reserve team. The professional team qualified for the play-offs to take part in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League and lost 7-4 to Vitesse Arnheim on a return leg. In the following season Jerry St. Juste fought for a regular place and was used in 28 games (one goal). A season later , the SC Heerenveen qualified again for the play-offs for the third qualifying round for the Europa League , in which the club was eliminated against FC Utrecht .
In July 2017, St. Juste switched to the Dutch master Feyenoord Rotterdam . For the Rotterdam team he made 15 appearances in the Eredivisie (two goals) and five appearances in the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League (one goal in the group game against SSC Napoli ) before he was out until the end of the season due to a shoulder injury. Jerry St. Juste also struggled with injuries in the 2018/19 season ; Across all competitions, he came to 25 missions and scored three goals.
In August 2019, St. Juste moved to the Bundesliga for 1. FSV Mainz 05 and signed a four-year contract.
National team
In 2013, Jerry St. Juste played at least one game for the Dutch U18 national team. After two appearances in 2014 for the Dutch U19 national team and three for the Dutch U20 from 2015 to 2016, he played for the Dutch U21 national team for the first time in the goalless draw on October 6, 2016 in Alkmaar against Turkey . St. Juste played nine games for this age group from 2016 to 2018 (one goal), but missed the team's participation in the 2017 European Championships in Poland and 2019 in Italy and San Marino .
