Jonathan Burkardt (born July 11, 2000 in Darmstadt ) is a German soccer player . He is under contract with 1. FSV Mainz 05 and is a young German national player.

Club career

Burkardt came from Darmstadt 98 in 2014 to the youth training center of Mainz 05 and was active in the B-youth and A-youth Bundesliga for the Mainz team. In June 2018, the 17-year-old striker received a professional contract that runs until 2020. He took part in the professionals' summer training camp and finally made his debut in the Bundesliga on September 15, 2018 in a 2-1 win in the 05er home game against FC Augsburg . At the end of the season he had played four Bundesliga games; and he had twice for the second team of Mainz in the Regional Southwest played. Until the end of the 2018/19 season he was still eligible to play for the Mainz youth team and was also used there.

In October 2018 he extended his contract term to 2022.

National teams

He has been playing in the DFB's junior teams since the U15 and was last used in September 2019 for the U20 .
