Jean-Paul Boëtius (born March 22, 1994 in Rotterdam , the Netherlands ) is a Dutch football player . He is under contract with 1. FSV Mainz 05 .
societies
Boëtius went through the youth academy of Feyenoord Rotterdam from the U7 . He made his debut for Feyenoord's first team in the Dutch Eredivisie in October 2012. Over the next three years, he played a total of 96 competitive games for his club, including five games in the group stage of the 2014/15 UEFA Europa League .
At the beginning of August 2015, he was signed by FC Basel after midfielder Derlis González had left the club for Dynamo Kiev shortly before . Boëtius signed a four-year contract. Under coach Urs Fischer , he won the championship title with FCB at the end of the 2015/16 season . On January 31, 2017, FC Basel awarded Boëtius to KRC Genk until the end of the season . The KRC had the option of a permanent takeover at the end of the season. He reached the quarter-finals of the 2016/17 Europa League with the Belgian first division club .
Boëtius returned to Feyenoord for the 2017/18 season with a three-year contract. He was eliminated with the team after the group stage from the 2017/18 Champions League and won the Dutch Cup in 2018 .
On August 27, 2018, Boëtius was signed by 1. FSV Mainz 05 for four years . He scored his first Bundesliga goal in a 2-1 home defeat against FC Bayern Munich on October 27, 2018, the 9th matchday of the 2018/19 season .
National team
Boëtius played for the Dutch U17 , U19 and U21 teams . On March 5, 2014, he played an international match for the senior national team . He played 73 minutes in the 2-0 friendly defeat at the Stade de France against France and was then replaced by Memphis Depay .
