↑ 3rd division 2012/13 |
The 2012/13 season of the Regionalliga Südwest was the fifth season of the regional football league as the fourth highest division and the twelfth of the Regionalliga Südwest in Germany. Due to a league reform that has been carried out, there are no longer three seasons of a regional league in the 2012/13 season , but five equal leagues from five associations. Hence the now fixed league allocation of the teams depending on the association membership. The sponsorship of the leagues has been transferred from the DFB to the regional and state associations. The regional league clubs no longer receive television money. An originally planned upper limit of a maximum of seven second teams of the DFL clubs was rejected by the state associations. Second teams from clubs in the 3rd league may play in the fifth division (Oberliga) at the most, while third teams also generally have no right of promotion to the regional league.
The three upper leagues Baden-Württemberg, Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate / Saar continue to be used as a substructure for the Regionalliga Südwest. The former Oberliga Südwest was renamed Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz / Saar.
KSV Hessen Kassel secured the championship title with 70 points, five points ahead of SV Elversberg . The Elversberger had secured the unofficial title of autumn champion with 38 points. With the championship title, Kassel qualified - just like runner-up Elversberg - for the promotion games to the 3rd division . While the Kassel team failed on the north representative Holstein Kiel , Elversberg prevailed in two games against the Bayern representative, the second team of TSV 1860 Munich .
The relegation ranks were occupied by 1. FC Eschborn , the second team of FSV Frankfurt , SC 07 Idar-Oberstein and FC Bayern Alzenau .
From the Hessenliga the increased KSV Baunatal and from the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz / Saar of SVN Zweibrücken and from the Oberliga Baden-Wuerttemberg , the SpVgg Neckarelz on. SV Darmstadt 98 was initially relegated from the 3rd division . Since Kickers Offenbach did not receive a license for the 3rd division due to a formal error, Darmstadt remained in the class and Offenbach was relegated to the Regionalliga Südwest.
