Matthias Morys (born March 19, 1987 in Waiblingen ) is a former German soccer player . He preferred to play on the outside positions in the storm . Furthermore, he was considered a very fast player with 11.0 seconds at 100 meters.
Career
From 2005 to 2006 Morys played for 1. FC Normannia Gmünd in the football league Baden-Württemberg , then moved to VfB Stuttgart II, for which he scored seven goals in 56 games in the Regionalliga Süd from 2006 to 2008 . Although he was part of the VfB Bundesliga squad in the new season, he saw no great chance of being used. Therefore, Morys switched to Kickers Offenbach at the beginning of the 2008/09 season in order to contest the first 3rd league season with the completely newly formed team .
Morys moved in July 2009 to the Bulgarian first division club FC Chernomorez Burgas on a free transfer . After the departure of manager Fredi Bobic in July and coach Krassimir Balakow in December 2010, he was sorted out there.
After his first attempt to switch to third division club VfR Aalen failed in December 2010 due to the dismissal of trainer Rainer Scharinger , he was committed in January 2011 after a renewed trial training under his successor Ralph Hasenhüttl .
In the summer of 2011 Morys joined the regional league team SG Sonnenhof Großaspach . There he scored 27 goals in 41 games as the most successful goalscorer.
On January 1, 2013, the then regional league team RB Leipzig signed him . He signed a three-and-a-half year contract until the end of June 2016. With Leipzig he subsequently made it through from the regional league to the 2nd Bundesliga. In January 2015, Morys was awarded to Großaspach for the remainder of the season, which had meanwhile been promoted to the 3rd division.
In the summer of 2015 he signed a two-year contract with third division club VfR Aalen .
After Aalen was relegated from the third division, he moved to the Austrian second division SC Austria Lustenau for the 2019/20 season , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2021.
Already in the winter break, the striker left Lustenau early after twelve appearances in the second division and signed a contract with SG Sonnenhof Großaspach for the third time, which was valid until June 2020.
He ended his football career in July 2020.
