The 1. FC Eschborn 1930 eV is a football club from the Hessian town of Eschborn .

history

The football club, founded in 1930, only emerged from the shadow of regional football in the 2000s. The basis of this ascent was a pool of sponsors founded by travel agent Michael Kopp. Under the sporting management of the former Iranian international midfielder Ali Marzban 2003 succeeded after only two league -Jahren promotion to the Regionalliga Süd . There the team initially proved to be too weak to stay in the league, in the end it finished 17th and was relegated back to the Oberliga Hessen. In the following year (2005), however, the immediate return to the Regionalliga Süd succeeded. However, financial problems and poor sporting performance brought the FCE back to the bottom of the table during the winter break, at the end of the round 1. FC Eschborn rose again with a balance of only 10 points and one victory. This was followed by relegation to the Landesliga Mitte in Hessen. Since the 2008/09 season Eschborn played again in the Oberliga Hessen.

The entry of the Russian businessman Tofik Davidoff at the beginning of January 2006 seemed to hold out the prospect of a temporary financial restructuring of the FCE. Davidoff's investments should enable a radical restructuring of the Eschborn regional league squad. However, a few weeks later Davidoff withdrew his commitment after President Karl Müller and Vice President Markus Buch had resigned. On January 25, 1. FC Eschborn, which was thus deprived of its financial basis, filed for bankruptcy at the Frankfurt District Court . The proceedings were then opened on May 29, 2006.

In the 2011/12 season, the club reached first place in the fifth-class Hessen League , which enabled it to secure a place in the Southwest Regionalliga , which was newly founded for the 2012/13 season . There the 1. FC Eschborn landed in fourth from last place and was relegated to the Hessenliga again. After the cancellation of the insolvency proceedings, the general assembly decided on October 31, 2013 to continue the association. On May 20, 2016, the association again filed for insolvency proceedings. The game was stopped on July 3, 2016.

As a successor club, SC Eschborn was founded in 2016, which took over all youth teams.
