Stefan Simon (born June 18, 1969 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Simon came to Eintracht Frankfurt from SC Offheim in his youth . During this time he also played for various youth national teams of the DFB . From the end of the 1980s he played for the amateurs of Eintracht, but did not make it to a professional game, although he was in the professional squad in 1990/91 . In 1991 he followed his coach Jürgen Sparwasser and went to SV Darmstadt 98 in the 2nd Bundesliga . In his second season there was a change of coach after a weak start to the season. In the end, Darmstadt took 24th and last place in the table and was relegated to third division. Simon said goodbye and signed a contract with FC 08 Homburg . So he stayed as a player in the second division. In 1994/95 , again in its second season, Homburg was also relegated. In 1995 there was a change to the lower class TV Althornbach.

A year later, for the 1996/97 season, he moved to the then Hessen division Kickers Offenbach . In the very first year he rose with his club in the Regionalliga Süd and in 1999 in the 2nd Bundesliga . However, the direct relegation followed. When it became clear in the following regional league season that Offenbach would not be promoted again for the time being and that there was even a threat of relegation to the league, a move to the second division club LR Ahlen was considered after the end of the season . The transfer was made after the preliminary round, so he left Hessen in January 2000 and moved to Ahlen for the equivalent of 125,000 DM.

With the Westphalia he could not fight for a regular place in a year and a half and was mostly used as a substitute. So he went to SV Wehen in 2002 and thus back to the Regionalliga Süd . In labor he was part of the regular staff again. In 2005 he joined 1. FC Eschborn, also playing in the regional league. Here he only stayed one season and then said goodbye to the upper divisions.

From 2007 to 2009 he was player-coach at the then Hessian group league club (group league Wiesbaden) SC Offheim, where Simon already played in his youth.
