Bungoma County (until 2010 Bungoma District ) is a county in Kenya . The county's capital is Bungoma . The county has 1,670,570 inhabitants (2019) and an area of ​​2206.9 km². The main industry is agriculture, the focus is on the cultivation of sugar cane and corn . 3.1% of households are connected to the electricity supply.

The county belongs to the Bungoma diocese of the Roman Catholic Church .

County Bungoma is divided into six constituencies: Mount Elgon, Kimilili, Webuye, Sirisia, Kanduyi and Bumula. Under the 2010 Constitution , the districts of Bungoma North, Bungoma East, Bungoma West, Bungoma South and Mount Elgon were merged under the new name Bungoma County .
