Webuye is an industrial city in Bungoma County , Kenya . Webuye is located on the A 104. The Nzoia flows through the city , outside Webuye are the Broderick Falls, which used to give the city its name.
Industry
Chemical industry and sugar factories are located in Webuye. The largest employer was Pan African Paper Mills, which opened in 1970 and employed 2,000 people. The factory was closed in February 2009, since then Webuye has been losing more and more residents and the crime rate is rising.
Infrastructure
In addition to some schools, the Kenya Medical Training College has been located in Webuye since 2005. There is also a health center next to the Webuye District Hospital. The Bungoma diocese of the Roman Catholic Church maintains a school for the deaf in Webuye, St. Anthony's School.
