Kajiado County (until 2010 Kajiado District ) is a county in southern Kenya . The county's capital is Kajiado . In 2019, 1,117,840 people lived in the county on 21,292.7 km².
The county borders on Tanzania in the southwest and Nairobi in the northeast . Most of the people in Kajiado County belong to the Maasai and live as semi-nomadic livestock. The region is considered a semi-desert , only 8% of the land area is arable. With three continually water-bearing rivers, the county's water supply is a problem. In 2006, 28% of households had a drinking water connection.

The county is divided into divisions. There are three constituencies, Kajiado Central, Kajiado North, and Kajiado South. Under the constitution of 2010 , the districts of Kajiado Central, Kajiado North and Loitoktok were united under the new name Kajiado County .

Kajiado County is home to Amboseli National Park , the Nyeri Desert, and Lake Magada .
