Bomet County (until 2010 Bomet District ) is a county in Kenya . The county capital is Bomet . In 2019, 875,689 people lived in the county on 1997.9 km². The county borders the Mau Forest , the largest mountain forest in East Africa. In Bomet County, tea and pyrethrum are mainly grown in addition to potatoes .

structure

The county is divided into councils and divisions. There are four constituencies: Bomet, Chepalungu, Konoin, Buret and Sotik. Under the 2010 constitution , the districts of Bomet, Buret and Sotik were merged under the new name of Bomet County .
