Thomas Drescher (born November 24, 1978 in Bad Nauheim ) is a German soccer player .

Career

After several positions at smaller clubs in Karben in Hessen and in Frankfurt, Drescher came to 1. FC Kaiserslautern at the age of 22 . There he was a regular in the midfield of the second team in the Regionalliga before he made the leap into the Bundesliga team in the third season. In the final spurt of the 2004 season he moved up under coach Kurt Jara on the left side of defense and after his debut on matchday 22, played all the remaining games until the end of the season with the exception of two games. At the end of 15th place was the successful relegation. Although Drescher received his first professional contract for the 2004/05 season, he could no longer maintain a regular place, left the FCK at the turn of the year 2004/05 and moved to the second division club SV Wacker Burghausen .

With the descent of Burghauser from the second division in 2007, Drescher's time there ended. Due to an injury, he could no longer play in the last third of the season. It was only in February 2008 that he joined a new club, the regional league club SV 07 Elversberg . From July 2010 he was active for Elversberg's league competitor SV Eintracht Trier . In his two seasons in Trier, the promotion was within reach and was ultimately missed. In the second half of last season there were internal disagreements, after the end of the cooperation in 2012 a dispute over unpaid bonuses ensued.

In the 2012/13 season Drescher was under contract with the Hessian regional league promoted team ( Southwest relay ) 1. FC Eschborn . From the 2016/17 season, Drescher will be part of the FC Karben squad, which competes in the Friedberg regional league.
