Aymen Barkok (official spelling Aymane Barkok ; born May 21, 1998 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German football player . The central midfielder is under contract with Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt .
Career

Barkok's parents come from Casablanca , Morocco . He grew up in Frankfurt-Nordweststadt .
Barkok began his career at SG Praunheim and joined the Kickers Offenbach youth team in 2011 via Rot-Weiss Frankfurt . In 2013, Barkok moved to the junior performance center of arch rival Eintracht Frankfurt . On October 20, 2016, he signed a professional contract with Eintracht and made his professional debut as a substitute player in the Bundesliga away game against Werder Bremen on November 20, 2016 ; he scored the 2-1 winner in the 90th minute. In May 2018, Barkok won the DFB Cup with Eintracht after beating FC Bayern Munich 3-1 in the final .
For the 2018/19 season , Barkok was loaned to league competitor Fortuna Düsseldorf for a year . At the beginning of May 2019, the loan was extended for another year until 2020. In the 2019/20 season he was relegated with the team to the 2nd Bundesliga and then returned to Frankfurt.
National team
In the 2014 calendar year, Barkok played a total of three international matches for the German U16 national team and for the U17 . He was called up to the U19 national team for the first time in March 2017 and made his debut in a 2-1 win against Cyprus . He scored his first goal on March 28, 2017 in a 4-0 win over Slovakia . In July 2017 he and the team took part in the 2017 European Under-19 Championship in Georgia and scored a goal there.
