Frederik Riis Rønnow (born August 4, 1992 in Horsens ) is a Danish football goalkeeper . He comes from the youth teams of AC Horsens and has been with Eintracht Frankfurt since 2018 . Rønnow is part of the Danish national team .

Rønnow grew up in his hometown Horsens on the Jutian east coast and first joined the amateur club Stensballe IK before he moved to the youth teams of AC Horsens . On August 5, 2010, he received a full-time contract with a term of five years, but was not used in the 2010/11 season. On March 31, 2012 he made his professional debut with his use in the 1-0 victory on the 23rd match day of the Superliga against Aalborg BK . In the following years he had a regular place in the goal of the Horsensians and completed six appearances in the Danish cup competition , in which he had come more often before his debut in the league. He reached the final with the team, which AC Horsens lost 0-1 against FC Copenhagen . In the league Rønnow played in eleven games and finished fourth with AC Horsens. Thus, the club played in the 2012/13 season in qualifying for the Europa League and beat the IF Elfsborg , but lost against Sporting Lisbon from. Rønnow was used in all four games. He played nationally in five games in the Danish Cup competition and in 33 in the league from which AC Horsens was relegated to eleventh place. His contract ran until 2017.

In early July 2013, Rønnow moved on loan to Esbjerg fB and prevailed with the club in the play-offs for the Europa League against AS Saint-Étienne . In the Europa League he made eight appearances and qualified with Esbjerg fB as runner-up for the first knockout round, in which they were eliminated against Fiorentina . Due to knee problems, he was no longer used in these two games and in the league until the end of the season. Esbjerg fB finished fifth in the table at the end of the season. Since his loan contract was not renewed, he returned to AC Horsens in the summer of 2014. He came to eleven inserts in the second division and missed promotion to the super league with sixth place in the table.

At the beginning of July 2015 Rønnow moved to the first division club Brøndby IF . He came in qualifying for the Europa League to two missions and was eliminated there with Brøndby IF against PAOK Thessaloniki ; in the league, he completed 33 missions and took fourth place in the table with the club. In the new season , Rønnow played seven games in qualifying for the Europa League and saw the red card once . He also played three times in the Danish Cup competition and in 26 games in regular league operations, in which Brøndby IF qualified as runner-up for the championship round. In this, Rønnow was used in eight games and took second place in the table with the club. In his last season for Brøndby IF, the 2017/18 season , he was runner-up and cup winner with the club. His contract with Brøndby ran until 2019.

For the 2018/19 season Rønnow moved to the Bundesliga for Eintracht Frankfurt . He was scheduled as a regular goalkeeper and was used in the first three competitive games of Eintracht, but when he was noticed by uncertainties, Eintracht loaned Kevin Trapp from Paris Saint-Germain shortly before the end of the summer transfer period , and Rønnow lost his regular place. During his first season he came to a total of two appearances in the league and in the Europa League , in which the Frankfurt reached the semi-finals. When Trapp, who was now firmly committed, was injured for the remainder of the first half of the season, Rønnow replaced him and was able to convince with strong performances.

National team

Rønnow played on January 28, 2010 in the 1-0 win on Gran Canaria as part of the Copa del Atlántico against France for the first time for the Danish U18 national team . In total he played four times for the Danish U18s, three times for the U19s and once for the U20s . On August 15, 2012, he played his first game for the Danish U21 national team in the 1-1 European Championship qualifier against the Faroe Islands . The qualification for the U21 European Championship 2013 in Israel was missed, but two years later the Danish U21 secured participation in the European Championship 2015 in the Czech Republic . Here Rønnow was part of the Danish squad , but he was not used. By 2015 he had played a total of 14 games for the Danish U21s.

On August 31, 2016, Rønnow made his first appearance for the Danish national team in a 5-0 test match win in his hometown Horsens against Liechtenstein . At the 2018 World Cup he was part of the Danish squad , but was not used.
