The Alliance Club Horsens is a Danish football club from the city of Horsens , Central Jutland .

history

AC Horsens emerged in 1994 from a merger of the clubs Horsens fS , FC Horsens , Stensballe IF , Hatting-Torsted IF , Lund IF , KFUM Birkeparken , Egebjerg IF , Juelsminde IF , Gedved IF and Rask Mølle / Åle IF . The background to this association was the targeted promotion and training of young players from the region as well as the improvement of economic and sporting prospects.

In the past, clubs from Horsens rarely appeared. The HfS played from 1927 to 1932 and from 1967 to 1970 in the top division. The best placement was a third place in 1967.

After the ACH had missed the qualification for the SAS-Ligaen in the year it was founded , he played in the 1st division for a year, from which he had to relegate after two relegation games due to the away goals rule . In 1997 he was promoted back to the 1st division .

In the 2004/05 season, the ACH secured premature promotion to the SAS league on the penultimate matchday . In the 2008/09 season Horsens finished 12th and last place and was relegated to the 1st division . But only a year later, they rose again directly, as the league leader, in the SAS league , in which AC Horsens took 4th place in the 2011/12 season. This enabled the club to qualify for the UEFA Europa League the following season . After an 11th place in the 2012/13 season, the ACH had to relegate to the 1st division .

In 2016 he was promoted back to the super league . After the preliminary round, ACH took 10th place. After the following round of relegation, relegation was ensured.
