Niels Lodberg (born October 14, 1980 in Hvide Sande ) is a former Danish football player and today's coach. He is currently working as an assistant coach at SønderjyskE Fodbold . Lodberg has previously played for AC Horsens , Ringkøbing IF , Lyngby BK and FC Nordsjælland .

Career

Until 2000 Lodberg laced the football boots as an amateur for the lower class Ringkøbing IF . Then he moved to Lyngby BK , where he was initially used in the second team. At the end of the 2000/2001 season, however, he also made his first division debut for the club and then received a professional contract. In the following season the club had to play in the second Danish league due to financial difficulties, Lodberg scored his first goals as a professional footballer here. For the next season he was signed by FC Nordsjælland and rose to the top division with the club. In 2004 he moved to AC Horsens . In his first season 2004/2005 he was able to celebrate promotion to the Super League with Horsens and scored 21 goals. Lodberg was also used for AC Horsens in the first division before relegation took place in 2009. Nevertheless, Lodberg remained loyal to his club and was able to celebrate the direct promotion in the following season.

After Lodberg could not agree on a new contract with AC Horsens in 2012, he moved to SønderjyskE Fodbold after eight years and a total of 242 games and 53 goals for Horsens , where he played for three years. In early 2015 Lodberg finally returned to AC Horsens and signed a two-year contract until summer 2017. He also worked as Bo Henriksen's assistant coach . After he announced the end of his career as an active soccer player in early 2016, he worked entirely as an assistant coach. In early 2017, Lodberg decided to continue his coaching career as assistant to Claus Nørgaard at SønderjyskE Fodbold.
