Djibril Sow (born February 6, 1997 in Zurich ) is a Swiss football player with Senegalese roots. The offensive midfielder is under contract with Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt and is a Swiss national player .
Career
society
Sow started playing football at the Zurich neighborhood club BC Albisrieden and joined the youth team at FC Zurich at the age of eleven . For the 2015/16 season , Sow moved to the German Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach , with whom he signed a contract until June 30, 2020.
Sow made his professional debut for Borussia Mönchengladbach on October 25, 2016 in the second round of the DFB Cup 2016/17 in a 2-0 home win against second division VfB Stuttgart . He came into play in the 88th minute for Lars Stindl . He made his Bundesliga debut on matchday 31 of the 2016/17 season when he was substituted on for Lars Stindl in the third minute of stoppage time in the 2-1 away win against 1. FSV Mainz 05 .
For the 2019/20 season, Sow moved to Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt , with whom he signed a contract that was valid until June 30, 2024.
National team
Djibril Sow has so far completed various international junior matches from the U-16s to the U-21s for Switzerland.
On September 8, 2018, Sow made his debut for the senior national team in the first group match of the UEFA Nations League against Iceland .

Djibril Sow is a Swiss-Senegalese citizen. His mother is Swiss and his father comes from Senegal. Sow had already gone to school in Switzerland with Nico Elvedi , with whom he played at Borussia Mönchengladbach.
