In the 2013/14 season , Heuer Fernandes moved to third division VfL Osnabrück and played 60 league games in two years. In May 2015 he was signed by SC Paderborn 07 and was relegated with the club from the second Bundesliga at the end of the 2015/16 season .

For the 2016/17 season , Heuer Fernandes was signed by SV Darmstadt 98 . Here he completed his first Bundesliga appearance on the 6th matchday when he came on for the injured Michael Esser in the game against Werder Bremen . At the end of the season he was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga with the team. For Darmstadt 98 he completed a total of 69 first and second division games.

For the 2019/20 season, Heuer Fernandes switched to league competitor Hamburger SV , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 30, 2022. So the kicker wrote after the top game lost 2: 3 against VfB Stuttgart on matchday 28: "It was obvious that the penalty caused by Daniel Heuer Fernandes in Stuttgart that HSV has no support in goal." At this point he had played 30 competitive games for HSV and conceded 37 goals, in 7 games he had not conceded. On matchday 29, Pollersbeck returned to the HSV goal, while Tom Mickel remained the "number 2" and Heuer Fernandes was not considered for the first time since his move for the matchday squad. From matchday 30, Heuer Fernandes was given Mickel's bank seat.
