The Ukrainian U-21 national soccer team is a selection team of Ukrainian soccer players . It is subject to the Federazija Futbolu Ukrajiny and represents him at the U-21 level , in friendly matches against the national teams of other national associations, but also at the European Championship of the continental association UEFA . Eligible to play are players who have not yet reached the age of 21 and who are Ukrainian citizens . In tournaments, the age at the first qualifying game is decisive.
history
The Ukrainian national team was formed in early 1992 after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and Ukraine's declaration of independence. The first friendly match was played on October 28, 1992 against the selection of Belarus . However, the first competitive games did not take place until 2 years later, when the team took part in the qualification for the 1996 European Under-21 Football Championship .
