Volodymyr Muntjan ( Ukrainian Володимир Федорович Мунтян , Romanian Vladimir Muntean ; born September 14, 1946 in Kotovsk ) is a former Soviet football player and football coach.
Muntjan's father was of Moldovan origin, his parents moved to Kiev a year after his birth and at the age of 15 he was already playing in the junior team of Dynamo Kiev . Since 1966 he played in the first team of the team and won the Soviet championship seven times and the Soviet Cup twice with Dynamo between 1966 and 1977 . In 1969 he was voted Soviet Footballer of the Year . In 1975 his team won both the European Cup Winners' Cup and the UEFA Super Cup . Muntjan was at times considered one of the best midfielders in Europe.
For the Soviet national team he came to a total of 49 missions from 1968 to 1976 and scored seven goals, he took part in the 1970 World Cup in Mexico.
After a serious accident in 1978, Muntjan's career as an active player was over. He then coached the national teams of Madagascar and Guinea as well as the Ukrainian U-21 national team and the junior team of Dynamo Kiev.
