The Guinean national football team , also called Syli National (e) , is the selection team of the Guinéenne de Football Federation . Guinea has never been able to qualify for the finals of the World Cup and was the best result in the 1976 African Cup of Nations . At the 2012 African Cup of Nations , Guinea won 6-1 against Botswana , which is the first time in 42 years that a team at the African Cup of Nations won a game with a five-goal difference, but the defeat against Mali and the draw against Ghana meant that Guinea was already eliminated the preliminary round.
