The Somali national soccer team represents the East African state of Somalia in soccer.
Somalia has been playing international matches since the early 1960s, after the founding of the state. It is noteworthy that an official association has existed since 1951, when the country was still divided into British Somaliland and the trust territory of Italian Somaliland . Somalia lost all of its first international matches very clearly.
Somalia never had a major national football team, and victories are still rare today. The country has never participated in an Africa or World Cup .
