The Somali Football Federation ( SFF or Sofofed ; Somali: Xiriirka Soomaaliyeed ee Kubadda Cagta ) was founded in 1969, right after the overthrow of the last democratically elected government under Abdirashid Ali Shermarke . In the same year the SFF became a member of FIFA . In 1972 she held national championships and four regional championships for the first time, and in 1975 she became a member of the Confédération africaine de football . The SFF is responsible for organizing games between local teams and enforcing the rules during the games. Though Somaliathe government has not been functioning for years, the organization has always functioned. In 2008 she organized a national championship for the first time in 18 years.
